Whatsapp Down memes trends on Twitter after the app stops working globally

WhatsApp has established itself as the global standard for both personal and business discussions. The well-known instant chat software stopped working globally on Tuesday in the late afternoon.

The app was not only inoperable on phones; the outage also had an impact on the web version of the app. An error notice advising users to check their computer’s internet connectivity was displayed to those attempting to connect to WhatsApp Web.

Internet users quickly created memes on social media in response to this significant technological error. Twitter quickly became trending with #WhatappDown. The memes made fun of how users raced to Twitter to see if they were the only ones affected by WhatApp’s current state and commented on how people were rumored to be in a frenzy inside WhatsApp HQ.

Since the broader Meta outage on October 5 that affected Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram together, Tuesday’s issue looks to be WhatsApp’s first significant outage. Millions of users worldwide were impacted by this widespread outage of important web portals before the services were quickly restored.
