  • James pleaded with the court to compel him to provide Atlas with the desired inventory list.
  • James’ request for guardianship of his own son was denied.

James Tupper, an ex-boyfriend of Anne Heche, is still waging constant battles against her oldest child, Homer Laffoon.

James, who had a 13-year-old son named Atlas Tupper with the late actress, formally objected to Laffoon’s recent attempt to “extend his authority” as special administrator of Heche’s estate, according to the court record.

By failing to provide him with an “inventory list and images of the tangible personal stuff,” which the 20-year-old believes is still in Heche’s apartment, Laffoon, according to James, has “broken multiple agreements” with his half-brother.

Additionally, James, 57, said that since the start of the probate process, Laffoon “has acted in a hostile manner towards Atlas” and “has refused to engage with him or his representatives at all.”

James claimed that his son “had no faith in Laffoon’s capacity to meet his fiduciary commitments to Atlas,” noting that Laffoon recently requested several powers from the court that his position as special administrator ostensibly already grants him.

Further arguing that the aforementioned request “underscores [Laffoon’s] lack of competency and inability to maintain estate assets,” James also accused Laffoon of “wasteful and unnecessary litigation” and accused him of acting incompetently.

Before granting Laffoon further power, James pleaded with the court to compel him to provide Atlas with the desired inventory list, “so it can be ascertained whether Laffoon genuinely secures all of [Heche’s] personal belongings in the future and dispute can be reduced.”

James also asked for a $2 million bail rather than the $800,000 that Laffoon had requested, claiming that “no evidence of such information has been offered to the court, James or Atlas as to what supports” the latter amount.

Since Heche’s death on August 12 from injuries sustained in a catastrophic vehicle accident at the age of 53, James and Homer, whom Heche shared with her ex-husband Coleman Laffoon, have been engaged in a court dispute over ownership of her estate and the role of guardian ad litem for Atlas.

Earlier this month, James’ request for guardianship of his own son was denied.
