Before the night’s winners were revealed, the Cold Heart singer, who gave a speech at the event at the Roundhouse in London, was spotted laughing heartily with the Queen Consort.
The new Queen welcomed the contest judges, shortlisted authors, and organizers before awarding Shehan Karunatilaka, a writer from Sri Lanka, with this year’s Booker Prize for fiction.
For the first time in three years, the Booker Prize celebrations were in person, and Camilla gave the award for the record-breaking seventh time.
Lipa and Queen Camilla both wore black to the occasion. The senior royal was stylish in a cocktail dress made of black lace. She added diamond earrings to the ensemble.
On the other side, the levitating singer wore a black velvet off-the-shoulder dress from Burberry’s spring 2023 collection.

The singer said that good writing “has the power to make people feel seen”.
“It’s such an honour to be amongst some of the world’s greatest literary minds to talk about one of the most profound joys in the world: the simple pleasure of reading a book,” she said.
“Reading is a passion that has taken many forms for me. Like countless other London school children, my early obsessions included Roald Dahl and Malorie Blackman, both of whom gave me little pearls of wisdom that still guide me today,” she added.
Lipa also shared that Kadare’s work helped her “connect with my family’s heritage and identity as Kosovan Albanians”.
