Ryan Reynolds talked openly about the one talent that catapulted his career, according to the sources.
The 45-year-old shared his secret to success at an Indeed FutureWorks event, which is a conflict resolution technique he picked up at a workshop while he was in his 20s.
According to the Green Lantern actor, “We live in a world that’s increasingly gamified, and I think we have an instinct to win, crush and kill.”
“But if you can disengage or disarm that instinct for a second and replace it with seeking to learn about somebody instead, that, as a leadership quality, for me, has quite literally changed every aspect of my life,” the author says.
The Deadpool actor said, “They’re an ally, even if it doesn’t happen in the moment,” when explaining the advantages of speaking up about someone else’s feelings.
He continued, “You can’t address problems with other people unless you understand them.”
The Free Guy actor also mentioned how a course he took in his late teens, when his life needed to change, gave him the skills to handle confrontation.
He remembered, “I was a little bit lost, I was a little bit angry,” “I wanted to get better … and I didn’t expect it to, but it really changed my life.”
