Kanye West is preparing to purchase the social networking app Parler after being banned from major social media applications, according to reports. The musician is following in the footsteps of his friend Donald Trump.
According to the source, the 2018-launched Nashville-based free speech platform has funded approximately $56 million to date and expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of 2022. It did not, however, disclose the deal’s worth.
Earlier, the Donda rapper bemoaned his exclusion from the mainstream media by evoking the antisemitic cliche that “Jewish people locked me out.”
West also asserted, “Jewish people have owned the Black voice, whether it’s through us wearing a Ralph Lauren shirt, or it’s all of us being signed to a record label, or having a Jewish manager, or being signed to a Jewish basketball team, or doing a movie on a Jewish platform like Disney.”
According to Politico, major social networking networks, including Meta and Twitter, suspended the 45-year-accounts old’s owing to several antisemitic posts.
Donald Trump, a Grammy winner, and longtime buddy founded his social media network Truth Social in 2021 after being banned from Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter following the January 6 uprising.
“I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all,” Trump added.
Parler, which includes Truth Social, is a collection of new social media platforms promoted by Kanye West and Donald Trump as free-speech alternatives to Twitter.
