Netflix receives criticism as they presents Diana’s final hours

  • Netflix to dramatize Princess Diana’s final moments in upcoming season of The Crown.
  • Crew members on the show reportedly concerned about depiction of princess’ death.
  •  Netflix insists Diana’s death will not be depicted in the new series.

Netflix has attracted a new wave of criticism, with intentions to depict Princess Diana’s dying moments in the upcoming season of The Crown.

Reportedly, the popular drama series, which has made news for its controversial portrayal of the royal family, would chronicle the princess’ final hours before her untimely death in Paris in August 1997.

The new outcry was documented after the sources claimed that team members on the show had voiced reservations regarding the depiction of Diana’s death.

According to the news source, several of them are concerned about the events before Diana’s death, with one reportedly stating, “It feels like a boundary is being crossed.”

Netflix claims that Diana’s death, which occurred in a car accident in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in central Paris, would not be reenacted in the new series.

Nevertheless, a source reportedly told The Sun, “Returning to Paris and turning Diana’s final days and hours into a drama is quite unsettling.”

The show made every effort to depict a fictionalised version of royal history with as much sensitivity as possible. However, as the present approaches, it has become more difficult to strike this equilibrium,” the person explained.

Season five of The Crown will premiere in November.
