The royal family has provided a heartwarming update on Emma, the beloved pony of the late Queen Elizabeth.

The gift of a Shetland pony named Peggy by the late monarch’s grandfather, King George V, inspired Queen Elizabeth II’s lifelong love of horses and enthusiasm for riding.

During the last fifteen years of her life, she was joined by her loyal friend Emma. She used to ride throughout the Windsor Castle grounds.

In addition to releasing a heartfelt homage to the Queen on Sunday, the royal family reassured the public that Emma is in the greatest of care by posting a stunning new image of the black pony to the official royal family Twitter account.

They captioned it: “For the past fifteen years, Queen Elizabeth regularly rode Emma for light exercise in the grounds around Windsor Castle.”

When the Queen passed away at the age of 96 in Scotland on September 8, many royal fans expressed concern for her beloved animals, particularly Emma and her corgis.

Royal family members and fans were moved to tears by Emma’s appearance at the funeral of the Queen. The pony was led outside to witness her owner’s return to Windsor, with a headscarf belonging to the late monarch lovingly draped over her saddle.
