A larger bench of the IHC, headed by its Chief Justice Athar Minallah, is hearing the case.

Imran Khan said he was ready to go to the judge and personally excuse from her. He said his fight was not against the judiciary.

A case was registered against Khan for threatening Additional Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry during a public rally in Islamabad.

At the outset of hearing, Imran Khan sought permission from the judges to speak and upon getting the approval he maintained that he had no intention to threaten the judge.

“I am ready to explain to the lady judge and to apologize to her,” he added.

Earlier on September 8, the IHC had decided to indict Imran Khan on September 22 while terming his response unsatisfactory. However, Khan while leaving the court maintained in an informal address that he was not allowed to speak before the judges.
