Keanu Reeves’ portrayal of DC’s John Constantine may soon make a comeback in theatres, according to Deadline.

The actor-director team behind the original 2005 spooky thriller is back for a sequel.

Through his Weed Road Pictures, the Star Trek director will produce and write the screenplay alongside J.J. Abrams and Hannah Minghella of Bad Robot.

The Francis Lawrence-directed movie debuted to a tremendous global box gross of more than $200 million. The fans had long called for a sequel starring a DC character.

The 58-year-old actor will return to the role of John Constantine, a superhuman exorcist and demonologist, who in the movie is on his deathbed but manages to keep his soul out of the demons’ reach by preventing them from coming to earth from hell.
