KARACHI: The commissioner Karachi has ordered the schools and other educational institutes in the city to stop conducting assembly sessions and sports activities amid the dengue surge.
Commissioner Karachi, Iqbal Memon, has devised a new strategy to combat the soaring dengue virus cases in the city.
The SOPs and directives were being issued to combat the recent surge in dengue cases as the metropolitan reported 403 cases in the last 24 hours.
The SOPs instructed the students to wear full-sleeved uniforms and directions were sent to the school for keeping the premises clean and drained all time.
It was also instructed that prevention will be possible only when the stagnant water is drained immediately and the school premises must be sprayed all the time.
In case of dengue mosquito, the school management will be obliged to immediately inform the concerned district administration, Commissioner Karachi ordered.
All private and government schools in Karachi Division are instructed to strictly follow the SOPs.
It is pertinent to mention here that dengue cases are on the rise in Sindh with the essence in Karachi as the city has been braving the disease after the recent monsoon falls that caused destruction all across the country.
Apart from dengue, malaria, gastro, and diarrhea cases are also soaring high in the province.
