Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), claimed that the organization did not abandon bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi after what he called an unwarranted issue broke up.
Former all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi had claimed on September 15 that Shaheen had paid for his own treatment in London.
Ramiz responded on Friday to a social media question from a cricket enthusiast. The supporter claimed the board ought to have given Afridi all the facilities he required.
He said, “How can anyone believe that Shaheen Shah’s parent body [the PCB] may disown him?”
“This is impossible, it is beyond comprehension that the PCB would leave him on his own to deal with this. This is unfortunate that the uncalled-for controversy has been stoked.”
He claimed that the PCB assisted batsman Mohammad Rizwan amid his world cup-related medical concerns.
He added, The panel of our doctors kept tending to him through the night, helped him recover and made it possible for him to play the final.”
Ramiz also gave the example of the batsman Fakhar Zaman, who is receiving medical treatment abroad at the expense of the PCB.
The Shaheen controversy was linked by the PCB chairman to a probable lack of clarity. He [Shaheen Afridi] claimed that due to tickets issues, he had to quickly leave Dubai.
Raja said, “For the PCB, players are the most significant stakeholders,”
“No other cricket board is doing what the PCB is doing for its players—international and domestic.”
Shaheen Afridi is undergoing continued knee rehabilitation in London, and former cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi made a startling statement about it on September 15.
Shahid alleged that Shaheen was not receiving financial support from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for his recovery.
