‘Squid Game Day’ will be held in Los Angeles on September 17

Squid Game, Netflix’s mega-hit Korean sitcom, will celebrate ‘Squid Game Day’ in Los Angeles on September 17.

According to the resolution, Squid Game is the most-watched Netflix original to yet, and it “was the first ever Korean series on Netflix to achieve number one in the US, shattering the barrier that many foreign languages show a face with Western consumers simply because of subtitles.”

The resolution also stated that Netflix’s mega-hit Korean series promoted multiple aspects of Korean culture to both US and worldwide viewers.

Furthermore, the thriller series was nominated for multiple prizes at not only American but also international ceremonies, and it is regarded as one of the first Korean series to receive such honours.

“Squid Game marks another victory in the fight to increase AAPI [Asian American and Pacific Islander] community representation in film and entertainment, exposing audiences to Korean culture and traditions while paving the way for other AAPI communities to have their stories told,” the resolution stated.
