Queen Consort Camilla engaged in a candid conversation with a fan as she joined King Charles III in greeting crowds outside Buckingham Palace following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Raynald Leconte, a film director, managed to talk with the new King and Queen as they arrived at the palace on Thursday.
“It was definitely a moment,” remarked the enthusiast. “I expressed sympathies,” Charles said, “truly, really appreciate you very lot.”
“And I wished his wife [Camilla] success, and she answered, ‘thank you very much.'”
“I assume she said, ‘I’ll need that,'” Leconte said of the situation.
Meanwhile, Charles III was formally crowned King today, September 10, at an Accession Council ceremony.
On Saturday, the former Prince of Wales ‘became legitimately and rightfully Lord of Britain and Commonwealth.’
The new monarch arrived at St James’s Palace’s State Apartments at 10 a.m. on Saturday to hold his first Privy Council meeting.
