The dojos are powerful: Cobra Kai Season 5, the most recent season of the well-liked “Karate Kid” follow-up TV series on Netflix, gets a pristine 100 percent rating from critics.

On September 9, Netflix uploaded all 10 episodes of the fifth season, which features Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprising their roles from the first two “Karate Kid” films. Aggregate of 27 critic ratings as of Friday, “Cobra Kai” Season 5 had a 100% Tomatometer score and a 96% audience score. On the website, “Cobra Kai” season 1 likewise has a 100% critics score, whereas seasons 2, 3, and S4 each have a 90% critics score.

Many other recent TV premieres, in contrast, have Tomatometer ratings in the 80s. These include “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” on Disney+ (88%), “The Sandman” on Netflix (87%), “The Patient” on FX/Hulu (86%), “House of the Dragon” on HBO (85%), and “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” on Prime Video (84%).

Netflix’s “Mo,” FX/”Reservation Hulu’s Dogs” Season 2, HBO’s “Hacks” Season 1, and Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” Season 1 are recent TV shows that have received a perfect critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. These join others with the highest Tomatometer rating, such as the third and fourth seasons of “Breaking Bad,” the second seasons of “Fleabag,” the first seasons of “Insecure,” “Master of None,” and the second through fifth seasons of “Broad City.”

“Cobra Kai” centers on Daniel LaRusso (Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (Zabka), whose rivalry has persisted for more than 30 years since the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. It is based on Robert Mark Kamen’s original 1980s “Karate Kid” movies. In addition to Macchio and Zabka, the series has also brought back Martin Kove as John Kreese and Thomas Ian Griffith as Terry Silver from the original flicks.

After Cobra Kai’s unexpected victory at the All Valley Tournament at the end of Season 4 shocked everyone, Silver has assumed entire control of the dojo in Season 5 and is trying to establish his “no mercy” form of karate as the only game in town.
