Shia LaBeouf revealed that his mother Shayna Saide passed away last month as he was caught up in the controversy surrounding the Olivia Wilde film Don’t Worry Darling.
The 36-year-old actor announced Saide’s death at the age of 80 on August 27 at a hospital in Los Angeles in an email to Reporter on Thursday. He was present at her bedside when she died away.
Saide passed just as LaBeouf was responding to Wilde’s claims that he had been dismissed from her upcoming movie.
LaBeouf told on Thursday in reaction to Wilde’s assertions in a Vanity Fair article that his methods were “not conducive to the ethos” she had hoped for” and that he had a “combative energy”: “It is what it is – every blessing to her and her film.”
In his memory of his mother’s final hours, LaBeouf said she was “full of anxiety” and “franticly asking the doctor what this tube was and what that gadget performed.”
