ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned the hearing on PTI’s plea for prompt decision on the funding cases of PML-N and PPP.

In the Islamabad High Court, a hearing was held on PTI’s request to speed up the decision on the party funding cases of PPP and PML-N.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah Islamabad High Court heard the application.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Farrukh Habib has filed an application while Senior lawyer Anwar Mansoor Khan appeared before the court and argued that the division bench of this court had said that the Election Commission would give a level playing field. The court had expressed the expectation that the Election Commission would look at the cases of all the parties at a glance.

Chief Justice said that Election Commission is a constitutional institution. Lawyer Anwar Mansoor Khan argued that the Supreme Court said that it is an administrative body.

The Chief Justice said that the Islamabad High Court had already ordered to treat all political parties equally. The court respects all constitutional institutions. How can the court regulate the Election Commission?

Anwar Mansoor, PTI’s lawyer, said that the party had applied to the Election Commission for equal treatment of all political parties.

The court after hearing the arguments, adjourned the hearing on PTI’s request for early decision on party funding cases of PML-N and PPP.
