Faisalabad torture case: Court demands proof of residence by accused

ISLAMABAD: A hearing was held in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday for the security bail of the accused in the Faisalabad torture case of the medical student, reported BOL News.

Sources in the know informed that the accused and daughter of the businessman Sheikh Danish reached IHC for her bail.

Acting Chief Justice Aamer Farooq heard the case and asked Ana Ali – daughter of Danish – for proof of her stay in Islamabad.

At the onset of the hearing, Acting CJ questioned Ana about her stay in Islamabad and said that the address provided was handwritten confirming that whether she was on a trip in Islamabad.

The petitioner’s lawyer maintained before the court that her client was being harassed to which the justice said that there must be something behind it.

Ana Ali informed the court that she has been staying in the capital since August 9.

The court while not giving an immediate security guarantee to the petitioner asked her to provide her proof of residence in Islamabad by Monday and adjourned the case.

Notably, a man from Faisalabad is said to have taken his daughter’s friend hostage and forced her to lick his shoes because she turned down his marriage proposal.

The girl, Rukhsana Qamar, was also tortured mentally and physically.

She was a Bachelor of Dental Sciences (BDS) student. She went to the Women’s Police Station in Faisalabad and filed a complaint. She said that she was related to her school friend Ana Ali Sheikh and would sometimes go to her house.
