WhatsApp new desktop app for Windows users is now available

We’ve been using a desktop computer to make and receive calls and send messages without our phones. If WhatsApp Web or a web-based WhatsApp desktop app is used.

The new software runs natively on Windows and no longer needs the web-based backend. The updated app looks the same. Native apps will operate better, utilise fewer resources, and launch faster.

These apps let you continue chatting from your keyboard when your phone is offline.

This software is currently Windows-only. WhatsApp will soon release a Mac app. Development of the macOS app is ongoing. WhatsApp’s macOS “Universal app” is in closed beta.

It will work natively on Apple silicon computers and be based on the iPhone WhatsApp app.

You must link it to a phone-linked smartphone account. Once joined, you can send and receive encrypted WhatsApp messages and calls on each device.

How to Connect Windows Desktop App:

  • First of all, download the new WhatsApp Desktop App for Windows.
  • Once downloaded and installed, you need to log in
  • Now, open WhatsApp on your phone.
  • Tap More options on Android or Settings on iPhone.
  • Tap Linked Devices.
  • Point your phone camera to the QR code that appears on your WhatsApp Desktop App.
