A house fire that occurred in Garland early on Sunday morning left one person dead and five others in critical condition, according to authorities.
Around 11 a.m. on Sunday, the 600 block of East Ridgewood Drive, close to Dairy and East Miller roads, was the scene of reports of “some form of explosion,” according to police.
There were six family members inside the house at the time, ranging in age from 3 to 54, and six of them had significant wounds, according to the police.
The five other family members are still in serious condition, according to the police, and a 54-year-old woman died from her wounds overnight.The family has not yet had their identity made public.

The deceased woman was a grandma, neighbours informed WFAA.
Ramiro Rodriguez, a neighbour, claimed he attempted to assist the family while also getting burned while doing so.
“Help, help, please, I hear a boy saying. He was outside when I ran to the house “Gonzalez claimed. “The two little boys were there as I walked inside the house. They had burning t-shirts.”
The cause of the fire is being looked into.
WFAA received confirmation from Atmos Energy that it deployed employees to investigate but had not discovered any signs of natural gas outside the house.
