ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders for investigation in the funding case, reported BOL News.
As per details, FIA summoned the PTI leaders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on August 18 in the funding case of PTI.
Former Speaker of National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Provincial Member Finance Muhammad Mohsin Dawood, former Secretary General of the party and former Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman have also been summoned.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) today decides to fix the hearing of the funding case before the larger bench.
Acting IHC chief justice Aamer Farooq said that the larger bench will hear the case while adjourning till August 18.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declared the PTI’s funding prohibited and issued a show cause notice to PTI Chief Imran Khan over a false affidavit.
PTI challenged the ECP’s decision in Islamabad High Court and a petition was submitted against the decision demanding the suspension of the order that was released on August 2.
It also holds that the show-cause notice issued to Imran Khan should be suspended.
