Every year on August 14, Pakistan celebrates Independence Day to honor the day the country gained its independence and became a sovereign country. Every year, a ceremony to raise the national flag is held in Islamabad. At dawn, special prayers are said at mosques for the nation’s peace, unity, and prosperity.

Pakistan is celebrating its 75th anniversary and diamond jubilee today. Pakistanis from all over the world are jubilantly celebrating their independence today.
