Shoaib Akhtar asks for prayers ahead of knee surgery in Australia

Shoaib Akhtar, a former Pakistani bowler, has requested prayers for good health as he is being admitted to a hospital in Australia for a partial knee replacement procedure.

Akhtar posted a video from the hospital on Twitter and asked followers to pray for him since the operation will take eight hours.

The “Rawalpindi Express,” the bowler with the quickest bowling average in the world, claimed the procedure was supposed to be done months ago but was postponed for a variety of factors.

Due to the delay in the surgery, Akhtar disclosed that he had received a painkiller injection in his knee in December.

The former cricketer says he underwent five procedures similar to this one and hoped this would be his final one.

“Playing for Pakistan as fast bowler was a great deal for me,” he said while wearing the surgical gown.
