Navjot Kaur, an experienced athlete, tested positive for Covid 19 but did not exhibit any symptoms, according to a Hockey India.
Their statement on the 27-year-old who had spent the previous two days in isolation. She may return to India tomorrow, it has been decided. Sonika has taken her place.
The Kurukshetra resident, 27, had spent the previous two days alone.
In addition to helping India win a silver medal at the Jakarta Asian Games, Navjot also helped his country capture a bronze medal at the Incheon Games in 2014. Her exclusion from the competition came one day after India defeated Ghana 5-0 in their inaugural Commonwealth Games match. On Saturday, they play against Wales in their next game.

Pooja Vastrakar and S Meghana, two cricket players who were part of the Indian team for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, had previously tested positive before leaving India but have since recovered. Pooja is likely to join the team before the next game against Barbados on August 3 even though Meghana has already joined.
The Games organisers had stated earlier this week that the Games Village was reporting a dozen incidents each day.
Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic threat that could jeopardise their chances of competing, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has advised the athletes in the national contingent to stay inside and avoid public appearances.
