Drunk man climbs Maharashtra mobile tower for wife patch-up

  • A drunken man scaled a 100-foot Maharashtra mobile tower to call for the return of his wife from her parents’ house.
  • Ganpat Bakal descended after locals, firemen, and police authorities promised to address the family matter.

Police in Maharashtra Jalna district said a drunken man scaled a 100-foot mobile tower to call for the return of his wife from her parents’ house, according to a police official.

The incident occurred in Dabhadi village in Badnapur tehsil on Wednesday, and the guy, identified as Ganpat Bakal, finally descended after receiving assurances from the villagers, fire brigade, and police officers that they would attempt to resolve the family issue.

“He was under the influence of alcohol. He came down from the tower after four hours. He was detained and then released later,” stated the police official.

The scenario reminded onlookers of Dharmendra’s character’s infamous drunken behaviour in the blockbuster film Sholay from the 1970s, but with one important distinction.

While Veeru, played by Dharmendra, wanted his lover’s family to agree to their marriage, this man just wanted to get married.
