LAHORE: Hours before the election of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, IG Punjab Rao Sardar requested CM Hamza Shehbaz to transfer him to the Federal Establishment Division, reported BOL News.
As per sources in the know, along with Rao Sardar, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddiqui, and DIG Operations Lahore Sohail Chaudhry also requested the transfer.
Upon receiving the requests, CM Hamza directed the officials to continue working on the slots. The sources disclosed that IG Punjab Rao Sardar maintained that it would be difficult to work if PTI’s candidate and PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi takes the slot of CM Punjab.
Notably, the Punjab Assembly’s session to elect a new Leader of the House will be held at Assembly Chambers in Lahore at 4:00 pm on Friday (today).
Deputy Speaker Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari will chair the session.
During the session, a runoff election will be held for the slot of Punjab Chief Minister between Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi.
