After releasing the Honor X8 smartphone in March of this year, Honor has returned to the worldwide market with the Honor X8 5G, a model with 5G capabilities. Despite having a generally similar appearance, the physical specifications of both devices are notably dissimilar.
The new Honor X8 5G offers a 6.5-inch TFT LCD display with an FHD+ screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
On the rear of the device is a square-shaped camera island housing a triple-camera arrangement. In contrast to the 4G variant, which features a 64-megapixel primary camera, the 5G model has a 50-megapixel main unit. This will be joined by a pair of 2-megapixel cameras for capturing macro and depth data.
The Honor X8 5G is driven by an octa-core Snapdragon 480+ CPU combined with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone will also launch with Magic UI 4.2, which is based on the Android 11 operating system.
The Honor X8 5G features a big 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W fast-charging capabilities to keep its lights on. In addition, the phone includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC capability.
