Linda Evangelista previously held the title of “the greatest supermodel of all time,” but a botched cosmetic procedure left her misshapen.
In her prime, Linda Evangelista walked down the runways for numerous fashion brands, such as Chanel, Versace, and Christian Dior.
We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day, the supermodel declared in a 1990 interview with fashion authority Vogue.
There was no model more spectacular than Linda, remarked Anna Wintour, the magazine’s infamously icy editor-in-chief.
The model eventually retired in 1998 despite making about $8 million a year and spent some time on the French Riviera.
But in 2015, she decided to get a cosmetic treatment called CoolSculpting, which permanently altered her beautiful life.
Although the treatment claims to “freeze” and “reduce” fat cells, Linda’s experience with the flawed method was the exact reverse.
She experienced an uncommon side effect called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH) three months later, which resulted in bulging, numb layers of fat.
The former supermodel reached a settlement with the treatment’s creators this week for an unknown sum, and she was welcomed back into the fashion world with a shoot for Fendi.
Linda described her suffering from her therapy this year: “I avoid seeing in the mirror. It doesn’t appear to be me.”
She initially believed that the weight gain in her chin, thighs, and bra area was a natural occurrence and starved herself in an effort to lose the extra weight.
She uttered: “I eventually stopped eating altogether. I believed I was going crazy.”
Linda claims that she was not informed of the extremely rare side effect of the treatment, PAH, prior to having CoolSculpting when she was eventually diagnosed.
After each of the two liposuction procedures, the fat immediately returned, making attempts to rectify the problems ineffective.
Additionally, she stated that Zeltiq, the business’s founders, had offered her free liposuction but had emailed her an NDA the day before the procedure, which she had rejected.
She is currently burdened with uncomfortable, hard lumps of fat that make her chafe and prevent her from supporting herself with her arms by her sides.
She uttered: “Protrusions are the lumps. And they’re difficult.
“I’ll chafe to the point of almost bleeding if I walk in a dress without a girdle. Because it feels more like strong fat rubbing than gentle fat rubbing.”
