Hugh shared a photo of lengthy lines at Heathrow Airport immigration with his 8,11,110 followers and stated, “Dear Visitors to the UK, I apologize for the way you are treated on arrival. Terminal 3 Heathrow just now was a disgrace and inhumane. I’m afraid we have the worst Home Secretary in British history.”
Hugh Grant elaborated on his statement when a fellow Twitter user called him a “half-wit actor” and said that private enterprises, not the government, are responsible for the long lines.
“It’s a queue for immigration control. Which is staffed by and run by the Home Office,” Grant replied to his critic. “We’re not allowed to call Brexiteers thick but it’s a struggle sometimes.”
Grant has long been a critic of the current Conservative administration and frequently uses Twitter to express his political views.
In August 2019, the father of three referred to Boris Johnson, 57, as an “over-promoted rubber bath toy,” four months before the Conservative Party won a majority in the general election.
