Christopher Nolan’s Inception is well praised for its intricate plot, visual effects, and mysterious conclusion. Therefore, movie enthusiasts were stunned when Twitter user Julian Shapiro uploaded a post detailing the film’s premise.

The post displayed Nolan’s handwritten plot map for the film. “A rare find for my fellow movie nerds. This is Christopher Nolan’s hand-drawn plot map for his film Inception,” tweeted Shapiro. The user attributes it to Tom Shone’s book The Nolan Variations: The Movies, Mysteries, and Marvels of Christopher Nolan.

The movie’s plot left netizens scratching their heads due to Nolan’s scribbles. A user remarked,  “There’s an arrow leading toward the word ‘home’ at the end of the page. I’m choosing to believe that means that Cobb got to go home to his kids at the end of the movie.” Another user commented, “I don’t understand… how did Cobb make it out of Limbo but Saito did not?”

Dominick “Dom” Cobb, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2010 film, is an “extractor” who steals thoughts or ideas from the minds of others through a shared dream world. Cobb and his accomplice Arthur (Gordon-Levitt) are hired by a Japanese businessman named Saito for a seemingly impossible mission: to plant an idea instead of stealing it, often known as “inception.”
