Sunday, Sony Music India put the music video on its YouTube page. Before the song came out, Alia, Ranbir, and the director of Brahmastra, Ayan Mukerji, went live on Instagram. During that time, the director said that they had been working on it even the night before it came out. Alia put the song on her Instagram account and wrote this as the caption: “Our love song is now in your ears. Kesariya out now!”

At the beginning of the music video, Alia and Ranbir look at each other in a club. Ranbir’s character, Shiva, sings to Alia’s character, Isha, and showers her with flower petals as they walk through the streets of Varanasi, ride a boat, and do puja in a temple. At one point, Isha tells Shiva that her name means “Parvati,” and she asks, “If Parvati doesn’t stand by Shiva, who will?” At the end of the song, as they looked into each other’s eyes, they were both crying.
