Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the God of Thunder in Taika Waititi’s fourth solo Marvel Cinematic Universe picture, Thor: Love and Thunder, which also stars Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, and Christian Bale as Gorr, the villain. The majority of the reviews for the movie have been favourable.

According to a report in BoxOfficeIndia.com, “The two day collections of the film are good at 30 crore nett.” However, the report added that the drop on the second day was unusually high and will need a course correction over the rest of the extended weekend. “Thor: Love and Thunder saw a big drop in collections on the second day as the film collected 11.50 crore nett. A 25-30% drop was on the expected lines but here the drop is 35% plus as all circuits dropped for the film,” read the report.

Additionally, according to a report in Deadline, the movie made $48.6 million in its first two days of release worldwide. This includes the roughly $4 million in India statistics. The figure places it below Marvel’s other huge blockbuster this year, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, but ahead of other recent hits like Top Gun: Maverick and Jurassic World: Dominion.

According to a different Deadline source, the movie made about $70 million on Friday in North America, including $29 million from Thursday’s paid previews. The movie’s overall global revenue now stands at roughly $120 million. This is expected to surpass $250 million during the weekend, according to trade analysts.
