Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has distanced himself from his country’s Big Bash League (BBL) and confirmed his unavailability for this year’s BBL.
Mitchell Starc said, “The goal is to represent Australia as much as possible,“
“I have always enjoyed the BBL when I have played it … but my approach with all franchise cricket hasn’t changed over the last seven years,”
“I have looked at the Australian schedule and wanting to be as fit and well-performed for that as I can,”
“I want to perform as much as possible for the Australian team,”
“I will always keep Australian cricket front of mind. The schedule for the next 18 months is very busy.“
Starc is the first Australian player who refused to play in this year’s BBL.
