A number of Bollywood celebrities have bravely chosen to raise their children alone, including 1994 Miss Universe Sushmita Sen. She made the decision to become a single mother in 2000. When she adopted her older daughter Renee Sen, she was only 21 years old.

She recalled the struggles she faced throughout her whole adoption process during a conversation. She claimed that the most recent example included an adoptable 29-year-old divorcee who was only 21 years old, single, and fertile. All of these factors worked against the case.

Although she was certain that she would lose the case, her heart was breaking for Renee. Since this is no laughing matter to her, she even advised her father and the driver that it would be best to flee with the child. Sushmita wanted nothing more than to take Renee home because she was virtually addressing her as “Maa.”

The judge then inquired as to whether Sushmita’s father was alright with her adopting Renee, endangering her chances of ever getting married. Shubeer Sen responded in the most endearing way. He claimed that he did not nurture her daughter to simply be a wife. Additionally, he is confident that she will follow through if she has made the decision to pursue motherhood.
The judge’s heart eventually began to melt, and Sushmita was at last allowed to welcome Renee home. She adopted her second daughter Alisah ten years later in 2010, and Sen now values these two kids tremendously.
