KARACHI: Syeda Bushra Iqbal former wife of famous host Aamir Liaquat Hussain said on Wednesday that it is distressing that the family of the deceased is being dragged into the court.

Bushra Iqbal was addressing the media after the hearing in Sindh High Court (SHC) against the exhumation orders of Aamir Liaquat Hussain.

SHC extended the stay order against the exhumation and autopsy of famous host Aamir Liaquat Hussain till July 19.

Liaquat’s former wife while replying to a question maintained that the petitioner in the postmortem case of Aamir didn’t appear in the court today adding that if the plaintiff was much concerned about the deceased then he should have appeared before the court today.

She also underscored that the family of the host was being dragged into the court which is very upsetting. Bushra also said that she is not aware of the motive behind the petition.

Replying to the question regarding Aamir’s third wife Daniya Shah, she said that her lawyer will respond on the issue and right now she can brief only about the autopsy case.

Hussain died weeks ago mysteriously at his residence at Khudadad Colony. His death cause remained veiled and no announcement was made in this regard. The police approached the court to get orders for his postmortem which the family denied and the burial took place without any autopsy.

A petitioner named Abdul Ahad filed a plea in court to seek autopsy orders but SHC ordered a stay in exhumation orders.
