Russia’s offensive ends if Ukraine surrenders: Kremlin

  • Russia will cease its offensive as soon as Ukraine surrenders, the Kremlin said on Tuesday.
  • Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky encouraged foreign powers to do everything possible to assist in ending Russia’s intervention in Ukraine by the end of the year.
  • “The Ukrainian side can stop everything before the end of today,” Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin.

MOSCOW: Russia will cease its offensive as soon as Ukraine surrenders, the Kremlin said on Tuesday, encouraging Kyiv to order its forces to lay down their arms.

“The Ukrainian side can stop everything before the end of today,”  Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, told reporters.

“An order for the nationalist units to lay down their arms is necessary,” he said, adding that Kyiv must meet Moscow’s list of demands.

On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky encouraged foreign powers to do everything possible to assist in ending Russia’s intervention in Ukraine by the end of the year.

France stated that he also stated that the time was not yet ripe for discussions with Russia, as Kyiv seeks to consolidate its position.

When asked to comment on Zelensky’s claims, Peskov stated, “We are guided by the statements of our presidentthe special military operation is going according to plan and achieving its goals.”
