Kate Middleton has been warned that if she doesn’t put an end to the frequent parallels to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, they could “become magnitudes worse.”
Daniela Elser, a royal columnist, reportedly warned the Duchess of Cambridge that the comparisons to the late Princess Diana are “only going to get magnitudes worse” when Kate ultimately becomes Princess of Wales in her most recent article.

Elser wrote that “The reason this matters is this is the third time in less than a month that we have witnessed the continuous Diana-ing of Kate,” while highlighting how Kate’s most recent images from Armed Forces Day sparked parallels to similar photos of Diana.
Later, Elser brought up how Kate’s attire for Trooping the Colour and the Royal Ascot was also displayed next to Diana’s pictures.

she continued that the problem here is that no matter what Kate does, says, or wears, Diana is constantly brought up in comparisons.
After ten years, three children, 33 visits abroad, and one Royal Foundation of her own, Kate is still routinely compared to Diana.
Elser said plainly, “It’s a game that Kate can never win.
She called an end to comparisons of Kate to Diana, saying: “This is a situation that is only going to get orders of magnitude worse when she acquires Diana’s title and becomes the Princess of Wales in the next few years. Breaking the habit of viewing anything Kate-related through a Diana-shaped lens is long overdue. That much is what she merits.
