On the scene of a talent competition that she judges, Neetu Kapoor, the mother of actor Ranbir Kapoor, appeared to be caught off guard. Ms. Kapoor was congratulated by the lensmen and inquired why before grimacing obviously unpreparedly as they informed her that she would soon become a grandma.

For background, actress Alia Bhatt posted a picture of herself and husband Ranbir in a hospital gazing at what appears to be an ultrasound result on a monitor, the screen of which is disguised by a large heart emoji, with the message “Our baby is coming soon.” When pressed, Neetu Kapoor just said “Thank you” to the photographers before repeating it when they informed her that a “junior Kapoor is on the way.”
The nicest thing in the world, in her words, is “Dadi ban na, nani ban na” (becoming a paternal or maternal grandmother). She already looks after Samara, whose parents are Bharat Sahni and Riddhima Kapoor, her daughter.
