The upcoming Lifetime movie “The Gabby Petito Story,” is based on the disappearances and killings of Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie.

The couple went on a cross-country road trip over the summer of 2021. Photographers spotted the actors filming in the mountains near Salt Lake City.

They went missing in late August while traveling with Laundrie, her 23-year-old fiancé.

At a fake campground, the Lifetime actors however observed filming an intense battle scene. When the action was over, the two embraced.

Before she vanished, Petito had already begun her journey toward her dream of being a travel blogger by creating a YouTube channel.

Several weeks after she had last spoken to her mother in late August. Petito’s family reported her missing on September 11.

Ten days earlier, on September 1, Laundrie returned to North Port, Florida, where he and his fiancée shared a home with Laundrie’s parents.

Authorities found Petito’s remains on September 19. Her death however judged a strangled homicide by the coroner.

Following Petito’s murder, Laundrie was noted as a person of interest before he vanished on September 13.

In North Port’s Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, the FBI recovered Laundrie’s remains and a message in October. In a suicide letter he left behind, he confessed to killing Petito before shooting himself in the head.
