In his farewell statement, Brian Laundrie expressed the possibility that he had seen his parents after killing Gabby Petito and pleaded with the public not to “make life difficult” for them.
After his skeletal remains were discovered in the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in October of last year, Laundrie, 23, wrote his last words in a notebook that was discovered on Friday.
The 23-year-old made a reference to how, after she “mercifully” killed Gabby Petito, he returned home to spend “whatever time” he had with his family.
“I hurried home to spend what little time I had with my loved ones. Although I’m sure James or TJ would have liked to, I didn’t want them to spend time in jail for my error. Instead, I wanted to drive north and let them murder me “Laundrie is thought to be the author.
“I’m taking my own life because I can’t bear to go on without her, not because I’m afraid of being punished.
“I’ve given up on our entire future and every moment we may have treasured. For everyone’s loss, I apologise. Do not make my family’s life more difficult,
In the hope that an animal would rip me apart, he said, “I killed myself beside this brook. that some members of her family could be pleased.
“Please collect all I have. Litterbugs infuriated Gabby.
Steven Bertolino, an attorney for the Laundrie family, got the notebook from the FBI and made it public.
October 20, 2021, federal officials located the notebook at the Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, where Brian’s skeletal remains were discovered.
‘MERCIFUL’ KILLING
The 23-year-old also admitted guilt for killing Gabby and described it as a “merciful” deed.
She was killed by me. I mistakenly believed that it was kind and that it was what she wanted, but now I realise how wrong I was. I was scared. I was stunned.
He added, “I knew I couldn’t go on without her from the time I decided, took away her agony.
Additionally, he stated that Gabby was suffering from a wound and would “wake in anguish.”
The 23-year-old stated, “She would wake in anguish, start her whole painful cycle again, while enraged that I was the one awakening her.”
She forbade me from attempting to cross the creek because she shared my belief that the fire would die out as she slept and cause her to freeze.
“Gabby was in a lot of agony, but I don’t know the extent of her injuries.”
GABBY’S PARENTS IN COURT
After authorities asserted that Brian Laundrie was to blame for the vlogger’s passing, the Petito family filed a lawsuit against the Laundrie family.
The parents of Laundrie, Chris and Roberta, are accused by the Petito family, which also includes Joseph Petito and Nicole Schmidt, of knowing that Gabby was dead but doing nothing.
Although the Laundrie family’s attorney, Steve Bertolino, filed a motion to have the lawsuit dismissed, the Florida court trial is still going on in Sarasota County.
In a recent interview with NewsNation’s “Banfield,” Bertolino discussed his potential misgivings over the legal counsel he provided to his clients.
“Do you regret anything because they haven’t gotten into trouble yet? Do you believe that they need to have spoken with the media or perhaps appeared a bit more human? “Brian Entin, host of NewsNation, questioned the lawyer.
Do you believe that you made any mistakes along the road, despite the fact that you gave them legal protection, given that they are now, in many respects, it appears, despised by the world?
In response, Bertolino said that both he and his clients had experienced emotional distress throughout the entire event.
“You know, vilified is a different word than loathed. Chris and Roberta, who are friends of mine and who did lose a kid, are also experiencing emotional turmoil “explained Bertolino.
“It’s sad that a young man that I’ve known since birth passed away. I followed all the proper procedures. We are not sorry.”
After killing Gabby Petito, Brian Laundrie “recommended he see his parents” and pleaded with the public to “not make their lives tougher.”
