On this day, June 25, 1975, when Emergency was proclaimed, Kangana shared a brief incident from her upcoming movie, “Emergency.”

The actress posted a picture of a 1975 newspaper’s front page on her Instagram account. She wrote, “These were the most dramatic events in the recent history of the world. What lead to the Emergency which was declared today and what were its consequence”
She further said, “In the centre of it was the most powerful woman in the world. This deserves a grand-scale epic film of its own. So see you in the theatres next year with #Emergency.”

The late prime minister Indira Gandhi is the subject of the movie “Emergency.” Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur play the key characters in it. However, Kangana have other upcoming film also, “Tiku Weds Sheru,” which also features them.

For those unaware: On June 25, 1975, then-President Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed declared a nationwide state of emergency in India. Which lasted for 21 months. Elections were therefore postponed, and civil liberties were restricted.
The majority of Gandhi’s political adversaries were put behind bars, and the media was restrained. Numerous human rights were also violated during the Emergency. As a result, the emergency era is regarded as one of the most contentious periods in the history of independent India.
