The energy crisis was not given importance in the past, he says. He says Pakistan has a capacity of 114 million acres per foot for water, and the export of the country consists of 65 percent for agriculture. We are lacking in making policies in our favor, Syed Khursheed Shah added.
He mentions that the points and suggestions given during the event will be looked after by the ministry, and we are not giving fresh water to the sea, which is the reason why we can not stop the seawater to enter the regions. 200,000 acres of land in Sindh have been lost to the sea, he maintains.
“We should not think about the present, but the work on future plans should also be looked after. Population growth has put a burden on resources,” the federal minister adds.
