ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday said that agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would not swift change in the country and hinted at more harsh decisions to be announced.
The premier was addressing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senators here when held predecessors responsible for the current economic situation of the country claiming that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had no empathy for the nation.
He opined that Imran Khan announced subsidy on fuel prices just when he realised that the no-confidence motion would be successful against him and he left land mines for the incumbent government.
Shehbaz Sharif also maintained that the PML-N government has the support of all coalition parties and they all wished for the government to complete its 14-month tenure.
While touching on the gravity of the recent price hike in the country, Pm Shehbaz said that the coalition including the PML-N was distressed over the decisions adding, “We preferred nation over politics and took the decisions to put the country back on track.”

He also said that the nation needs to work with unity and enthusiasm and announced the glad tiding that the conditions with the IMF have been met and in no time the announcement will be made in this regard.
While lambasting PTI chief he said that the previous government failed to keep strong relationships with the friendly states and due to this the economy suffered a lot.
The prime minister vowed that he will not throw dust in the nation’s eyes and will keep his promises adding that the promises made by the PTI government were fake.
