Dad-of-five When his employee came off the road and smashed into the stone wall, Ronaldo, 37, was in another vehicle in a small convoy with his loved ones.

According to the island newspaper Cronica Balear, the bodyguard exited the vehicle to continue his journey, leaving other workers engaged by the Manchester United footballer to meet the police when they arrived.

The Portuguese international’s whereabouts were unknown at the time, although he has been photographed enjoying days out with his family on his £5.5 million superyacht, which is anchored in Port Adriano.

Ronaldo is rumoured to be renting a luxurious property near the site of an accident on a tiny road near Joan March Hospital in Bunyola yesterday morning.

The wrecked Bugatti was then towed away on a blue tarpaulin-covered tow truck.
