Texas Republicans claim that Biden’s election was fraudulent

  • Republicans in Texas voted at a state-wide convention that ended last weekend on a party policy that refers to homosexuality
  • A bipartisan congressional committee is working to firmly and publicly refute the untrue claim that Biden did not win the election,
  • Compared to challenger Donald Trump, Biden won 7 million more votes.

Republicans in Texas voted at a state-wide convention that ended last weekend on a party policy that refers to homosexuality as a “abnormal lifestyle choice,” officially rejecting President Joe Biden’s reelection in 2020 as invalid.

A bipartisan congressional committee is working to firmly and publicly refute the untrue claim that Biden did not win the election, and yet the party has embraced unsubstantiated charges of vote fraud in a staunchly Republican state.

Compared to challenger Donald Trump, Biden won 7 million more votes. Additionally, Biden won 306 Electoral College votes, which is more than the 270 required to win.

The congressional committee looking into the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021 is developing evidence that Trump’s attempts to reverse his loss in the 2020 presidential election—including by denying he lost—amounted to a conspiracy to illegitimately retain power.

Trump, the 45th president of the United States, has denied any wrongdoing.

The Texas party adopted a statement at their convention that stated, “We reject the official results of the 2020 presidential election and we hold that acting President Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was not legitimately elected by the people of the United States.”

With 38 electoral votes, Texas is second after California in importance to national politics in the United States. For the previous forty years, voters there have supported Republican presidents.

No comments came from the White House.

About two-thirds of Republicans predict that Trump will win the 2020 presidential election, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll. While inspections and audits revealed no evidence of widespread fraud, state and federal judges dismissed more than 50 lawsuits launched by Trump and his backers challenging the election.
