After exiting a music event on Friday night, Tennessee’s Republican Secretary of State was detained on suspicion of driving while drunk. Police filed DUI charges against him.
“I, however, stopped by the Tullahoma Police Department after leaving the Bonnaroo Music Festival.” Tennessee’s Republican Secretary.
“Driving While Intoxicated is a severe offense, and I regret the circumstances surrounding my arrest. I appreciate law enforcement and will continue to put my faith in the judicial system as we move forward.”
According to jail records, Hargett sent to the Coffee County Jail just after midnight Saturday and released a few hours later. Police filed DUI charges against him.

Hargett was a member of the Tennessee General Assembly for ten years before becoming the director of the Tennessee Regulatory Authority.
The Bonnaroo Music Festival hosted every year since 2002, kicked off on Thursday and will end on Tuesday.
J. Cole, Tool, 21 Savage, Robert Plant, and Gryffin however, among the musical performers set to perform at the event.
The Bonnaroo Music Festival’s representatives did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
