- It showed the two being held captive; by Moscow-backed separatist forces in eastern Ukraine.
“Mom, I simply wanted to let you know that I’m alive,” Alexander Drueke stated.
Russian state media broadcast videos of two American citizens; who went missing while fighting in Ukraine last week; indicating that they had been apprehended and prompting fears for their safety.
Andy Huynh, 27, and Alexander Drueke, 39, went missing near the northern border city of Kharkiv. She claimed that one of his friends told her that the two had become separated while on a mission; and had failed to arrive at their rendezvous place.

Their fate remained unknown until Friday, when the footage was released on RT; which said that the two were being taken captive by rebel troops backed by Russia in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas region.
