Adele’s Vegas residency thrown into chaos as staff ‘fired for summer’ from venue

  • Adele was due to perform at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum theatre earlier this year.
  • However, she cancelled at the last minute leaving fans out of pocket by hundreds of pounds.
  • Speculations claim that she may not have enough time to perform in Las Vegas.

Adele’s long delayed Las Vegas residency to be rescheduled have been thrown into chaos as the venue she is due to perform in has laid off all its staff.

The 34-year-old Rolling In The Deep singer was set to kick off a series of small shows at Caesars Palace’s renowned Colosseum theatre earlier this year.

However, she cancelled at the last minute, leaving some fans out of pocket by hundreds of pounds, but promising to return to the venue later this year.

However, speculations claim that Adele may not have enough time to perform since that staff has been let off for the summer season.

According to report: “Union officials representing staff at the Colosseum confirmed members of the team had been told to go home until September.”

Adele suggested to fans during a TV interview back in February that her residency “has to happen this year” – but the year is already almost half-way over.

If the Colosseum’s crew is out of commission until September, it is envisaged that they will return to work on Sir Rod Stewart’s planned residency, which will run from September 23 to October 1 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

According to some sources, Adele may transfer her shows to the nearby Planet Hollywood, although the venue is currently hosting performances by John Legend and Shania Twain.

Meanwhile, The Colosseum continues to advertise Adele’s upcoming concerts.

The site states: This residency announcement comes on the heels of Adele recently releasing her fourth studio album 30 on Columbia Records.

“The album is being heralded by fans and critics alike as Adele’s boldest and most ambitious album yet. 30 debuted at #1 on album charts in 30 countries and is already one of the biggest selling albums of 2021.”

However, the website goes on to state: “All events originally scheduled for Weekends with Adele at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from January 21, 2022 through April 16, 2022 have been postponed.”

Adele’s residency gigs were unexpectedly cancelled in January of this year, with contradicting tales emerging from behind the scenes.

While the sudden cancellation of the shows was initially blamed on a Covid outbreak, it was later reported that the singer had a diva breakdown about the set that had been erected for her to sing in.

She allegedly became enraged with the stage design, saying it resembled a ‘old pond,’ and ended up ‘refusing to take part.’

An insider said at the time: “Adele described the pool as a ‘baggy old pond’ and refused, point blank, to stand in the middle of it.

“The intention was to fill it with water on the set as she was lifted up on a crane-type mechanism, creating the illusion she was floating on water.”
