ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday invited an oil tanker driver belonging to Balochistan to the PM House for praising him on his bravery in saving lives.
The prime minister, while appreciating Sher Ahmad alias Faisal Baloch for demonstrating valour and saving the lives of people without caring for his own life, nominated him for the conferment of Tamgha-e-Shujaat.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister in a twitter post said, “It was a pleasure to meet and nominate Faisal Baloch for the conferment of Tamgha-e-Shujaat for his act of bravery.
“A real-life hero, he risked his own life to save that of countless others. I commend his selfless act of courage,” he added.

The truck driver earned praised after a video of him driving away a burning oil tanker to save lives went viral.
Faisal was emptying oil at a fuel station located at Qambrani Road, a well-populated area of Quetta, when the oil tanker caught fire.
Soon after the fire engulfed the tanker, the driver immediately drove it away to an unpopulated area to save the people from a disaster.

The locals started to shout and pleaded the driver to stop it who chose to put his life at great risk by driving the burning vehicle for around two kilometres.
The brave driver said he was concerned about the population. The oil tanker contained more than 10,000 litres of petrol.
A large number of people rushed towards the vehicle once it was stopped and extinguished the flames. The heroic act was widely appreciated by the people present on the scene and owner of the fuel station.
Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has announced to award Rs 0.5 million to the valiant driver. He said Faisal risked his life saved hundreds of other lives.
