DG ISPR Babar Iftikhar: Military leadership wants to bring Musharraf to Pakistan

KARACHI: Speaking to a private channel on Tuesday, DG Inter-Services Public Relations(ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar told that the military leadership wants to bring the former President and Chief of Army General Parvez Musharraf to Pakistan, BOL News reports.

The head of the military’s media told Kamran shahid in his program that the final call for the return of the ex-president, who resides in the United Arab Emirates, to Pakistan would be made by his family. “We have contacted his family. Once his family responds, we can make the required arrangements,” DG ISPR Babar Iftikhar said as he prayed for Musharraf’s speedy recovery.

Hours after the DG ISPR statement on TV, the former prime minister and head of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Nawaz sharif tweeted about Gen Musharraf’s return to Pakistan and said:

“I have no personal enmity or animosity towards Parvez Musharraf. I don’t want anyone else to suffer the trauma I have to endure.”

Musharraf, 78, is critically ill these days as he is suffering from a condition called amyloidosis.
