The Naan Bai Association told the court that 80 Kilograms of flour bar has increased from 4800 rupees to 6800 rupees. The government has increased the gas prices by 40 percent, and one unit of electricity has increased to 38 to 21 rupees per unit. Transportation, labor, and other expenses have also been increased due to high inflation.

As per details, one single loaf costs 18 rupees to the bread owners. One single tortilla (chapati) costs 10 rupees for making. On May 9, the Naan Bais appealed to the deputy commissioner of Lahore to increase the bread prices, but without taking any consideration he fixed the bread and tortilla prices to 15 and 10 rupees respectively.

The petitioners told the court that by fixing the prices of bread, the Naan bai association is being punished. The notification for prices should be considered null and void by the High Court, BOL News reports.
